SENIOR CITIZEN, VETERAN OR 100% DISABLED
REAL ESTATE TAX ONLY

Missouri law has not provided for local assistance with real estate taxes, however, there are two programs offered through the State of Missouri.  Please contact the agencies listed below for more details on these programs.

MO-PTC  (also referred to as Circuit Breaker)
Renters or homeowners if qualify

Maximum income $30,000 single / $34,000 married
Refund up to $1100 from State of Missouri
Submit by April 15 of each year - may file for 3 years from original due date
Contact your tax preparer or the Warrensburg Senior Citizens Center after January 1 for assistance 660-747-2624
If you own more than 5 acres with the residence, please request Form 948 from the County Assessor

HOMESTEAD PRESERVATION ACT (New program in 2004)

Credit only for INCREASE in taxes if increase exceeds 2.5 to 5.0 percent
Maximum combined income $77,254
Application period is April 1 to October 15
If approved, a credit will be applied to next year’s county real estate tax
